Climbazole is an imidazole antifungal agent. It inhibits fungal sterol 14-alpha demethylase, disrupting ergosterol synthesis and cell membrane integrity in Malassezia species. It is used in anti-dandruff shampoos and cosmetics. Its structure features a chlorophenoxy ring linked to a tert-butyl-imidazole ketone.
