Flonicamid is a pyridinecarboxamide systemic insecticide. It selectively disrupts insect chordotonal organs, halting feeding behavior rapidly in target pests. It controls aphids, whiteflies, and thrips in cotton, fruit, and vegetables. Its chemical structure consists of a nicotinamide backbone substituted with a trifluoromethyl group and a cyanomethyl group.
