Quinclorac is a quinolinecarboxylic acid herbicide. It acts as a synthetic auxin and stimulates 1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylic acid (ACC) synthase, leading to phytotoxic ethylene and cyanide accumulation in susceptible grasses. It controls barnyardgrass and broadleaf weeds in rice and turf. Its structure consists of a 3,7-dichloroquinoline-8-carboxylic acid core.
